Circular walk from Settle Station up Mitchell Lane and Lambert Lane (both part of the Pennine Bridleway) and then along High Hill Lane to Scaleber Force. Then it was back along the lane before turning right uphill to the Warrendale Knotts and then via the Dales Highway back to Settle

The walk starts with a steep climb out of Settle

Then onto a track blocked by a hazard of oncoming sheep!

Then a walk on the High Hill Lane to Scaleber Force.
This is next to the road, and the road bridge is in the top right of the photo.

The view of the force is great from the top, and there were steps to get down to river level.
This was a glorious view as you got a clear view of all the elements of the falls, and the different rock layers.

After backtracking along High Hill Lane for a while then turned right towards the peaks. Finally the walk was off road.
On the way up there was an old mine opening.

When I reached the valley the view was breathtaking.

Folloing the path to the shoulder of the hill in total awe. It was great to sit and enjoy the view.

I then joined the Dales Highway.

This climbed out of the valley but with glorious rock formations to in view.

When the path peaked there was a view over towards Whernside.

This was followed by the steep descent back into Settle.

A beer and then walking back to the station saw a strange bit of wall art.

Then it was back to probably my favourite railway station.

This was an enjoyable walk, more road walking than I would have liked, but they were quiet roads. But wilh great views and some wonderful places to sit down and enjoy great views.
