As there was such crappy weather about, I didn’t know what to expect from Milford Sound, where the classic views are all in night sunshine.
While we didn’t get the views down the Sound, we got finer detail and extra waterfalls.
The weather was initially a bit windy with light showers, but then it turned into a deluge and strong winds. Particularly on the return part of the trip.
The photos aren’t the best and don’t do the place justice.
I do agree that it is one of those listed among New Zealand’s must-sees. ‘The whole experience, including the views en route, was stunning.
We might have missed the sun, but we saw a different, less-seen side of Milford.
