Gargrave

Leeds Liverpool Canal – Gargrave to Skipton and Skipton Castle Woods 13/05/2025

A linear walk between stations.

The original walk was just to be along the Leeds Liverpool canal from Gargrave station to Skipton station.  But then extended it through to Skipton Castle Woods. 

The canal walk from Gargrave to Skipton is easy.  There are a few locks.  








The Marina in Skipton






There were plenty of new bird families along the canal







And I spent about 10 minutes watching a Heron






Then onto the woods and a really impressive display of wild garlic.





Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of wind during the walk, so very few reflections in the canal.
