14/06/2026 – Walk The Worlds To Rights
This was a relatively straightforward walk, climbing up the side of the valley then on to the head of the valley and then back again. It had a lot of road walking, but the roads were very quiet, and there was always a view.

After leaving the car park we walked up to St Marys church and v nice little waterfall next to the church yard.

After passing some new houses the path crossed the river.

The walk continued along the road until we passed through a nature reserve.

Once we left the nature reserve we finally stopped climbing. We were again walking on roads but saw more cyclists than cars. There were nice views across the valley. We also had a very clear view of a green woodpecker flying along the valley.

And a sombre reminder of part of the the countries. A gravestone for orphans who died at work. The youngest was 12.

Towards the end of the valley was one of my favourite views of the day.

Closely followed by a magnificent fungus.

We then started to walk back at the other side of the valley, along a private road/driveway.

Then we had a break at Bobs Tea Rooms, nice drinks and nicer cakes, in a pretty courtyard.

And probably the most twee birdfeeders

After a few hundred yards on the road we joined a path across fields for the last uphill of the walk

Then it was a gradual decent back to the car park, mainly on roads, passing a fair number of walled drover tracks.

I dont normally like walks with so much road walking, but really enjoyed this one. It did help that there was always a view, and good company.
